Accumulators
Accumulators on your hydraulic setup give you a better ride. But if you are interested in getting a better ride in your car then we suggest getting air bags instead. The point of having hydraulics is so you can hop, three wheel and all the other good stuff that goes along with having juice. To do that with accumulators you would need some sort of normally open solenoid valve on the accumulator. Then when you want to hop you would just hit a switch to shut the accumulators off in the hydraulic circuit.
In our club we personally don't care for them because they take away from performance. There will also be a delay before the car lifts up. The ride is much better, but if your worried about the ride then you really should look into airbags. We can't stress enough that we're not kidding about that. Accumulators install on the outlet side of the dump valve. Always install in a 45-90 degree angle , vertical position is important for them to work properly due to the gases inside. Always fully depressurize your accumulators to avoid the problems they can cause. ( I.E., leaking cylinders, faulty check valves and bad dump valves. ) Hold down switch AFTER car is fully down to properly depressurize.
Above: The bladder type accumulator on the left has caught on in lowriders.
Above: Here is a setup we installed some time ago with two accumulators on the rear pump.
